The last tea parcel arrived this morning from Austria, which means we had tea from Austria, the UK, the USA, and France!
There were some zine pages too, and I’ve not made mine or the cover yet, so today and tomorrow I’ll work on the zine. Then on Monday I can start posting out the parcels. :)
The TL;DR: Everyone sends tea bags to Cassian in the UK, plus some postage money. Everyone gets back the same number of tea bags - but they’re all different. How does it happen? Can we ever really know?
Last time we had participants from the UK, Germany and Austria, so most people got ~international tea~
If you’re looking for zine inspiration, here’s the pages people sent in last year:
If you change your mind and decide not to take part, please let me know so that I can open up your slot for someone else. :)
So far we’ve got tea from the UK, the USA and France - and there’s some from Austria en route too! :)
There’s three days to post your tea, and plenty of slots left. If you post it last-minute, let me know you’ve sent it so I can wait and do the swap after yours arrives!

The parcels are now ready to post! Two had postage-paid envelopes so they’ve already been posted. Take a look at the spreadsheet to see the status of your tea. :)
It’s just another place to keep up with current tea-swapping events really - a little like Twitter, but with more characters!

Today I spent a little time putting the zine together. Five people sent in pages with their tea bags. Everything’s stuck down, I just need to write the introduction page. I hope to do that tomorrow, and then copy, cut and stitch it.
My intention is to send two copies to participants who asked for zines - one to keep and one to give to an interested friend. I’m taking progress photos, which I will post once I’ve sent the parcels out so I don’t spoil the surprise!
Going through the parcels to get the zine pages was the best thing. Everything smells SO GOOD.
The deadline is today and I have a tidy pile of parcels ready to have the swapping magic happen to them.
Sometime over the next few days I will assemble and print the zine, and then rearrange all the tea, package it up, and get it ready to post.
If anything does arrive after the deadline but before I start on the zine and the swapping, I will include it. But it’s Easter weekend, so there will be postal delays. You’d be playing chicken with my chronic fatigue. ;)
Ok, Cassian, so I'm almost done getting all of my things together for the tea zine. Would it be ok if I did two pages for the zine, intended to be viewed side by side? Like you open the book to pages 5+6 and they're next to each other? I am so bad at explaining, sorry. I would write a note about this in my parcel to avoid confusion and whatnot. Also I can also just do a single page like a normal person 😅.
A two-page spread is totally fine by me! I mean, people can do as many pages as they like really - but yes, if you need them to be put side-by-side just put a note in the parcel explaining it so I don’t get it wrong On The Night.
